Great Employee Programme (GemP)
The Great Employee Programme (GemP) is a three-month semi-intensive Fellowship programme designed for young, upwardly mobile professionals. Through the GemP, we aim to identify, engage and empower young Africans who have a propensity for workplace excellence and give them opportunities for self actualization.
The GemP is patterned after a 3C Ethic – Character, Creativity and Competence.
The 3C Ethic
Great organizations are built on the foundation of solid character. A whole GemP module is dedicated to this all important reality.
Masterclasses during the (GemP) are quite immersive. We try to give every Fellow the opportunity to hone at least one problem-solving skill.
The Great Employee Programme was birthed and nurtured on the cradle of User-centred Design. It is how we generate ideas and make decisions. It is only natural for our Fellows to discover their innate creativity while they are engaged with us.
We currently have two offerings under the Great Employee Programme:
GemP Basic Certification
The GemP Basic Certification lasts for about 13 weeks. If selected, you will be required to take 3 modules. Each module ends with a cluster of masterclasses. Most modules will be offered online while masterclasses will take place on-site.
Selected applicants who are not resident in Lagos as well as those who have a physical handicap regardless of where they stay will be allowed to participate in the masterclasses via the online platform.
GemP 5-Star Certification
The GemP 5 Star Certification is offered in partnership with Thought in Motion™. Fellows who want to attain the 5 Star status must firstly complete the requirements for the Basic Certification. Upon completion of the Basic Certification, prospective 5 Star awardees will have to intern at one of PivotAfrica’s designated partner organizations. While we try to make the criteria for awarding this certification as objective as possible, we also make sure to maintain the high standards required to get it. Note that the 5 Star Certification is renewable after every 2 years. Renewals are uncomplicated and simply entail the submission of performance evaluations by the Fellow’s supervisor or superior.
